 In 1992, Damian Ranelli purchased a truck full of habanero plants for his garden. This single moment would change the world of cooking forever. You see Damian is an idea man and with every idea he says "you always need to triple think." So, where others would see a simple garden, he saw the seeds of what would blossom to become an exceptional business. As his garden produced an over abundance of peppers, over the next couple of months, he brewed up this and marinated up that. He fried, pickled, canned, and froze everything he could. He created numerous recipes by combining all the fresh produce of that harvest. Each year that followed, he continued to tweak his recipes, testing the results on his large extended family and friends. It was now the spring of 1995, Damian had just returned home from a trip to San Sebastian, Spain. Filled with tasty inspiration from all the wonderful food he had sampled, he was more determined to make his sauce company a reality. With his history in the restaurant business and his dedication to learning the craft of sauce-ology, this alone would be enough to guide him through the tough spots. But he still felt he needed to know more, so he started doing his homework. After about a year of peppering the best in the business with his questions, reading everything he could get his hands on about the magic of sauce preparation, he was ready to launch his company. |

But there was one last thing. Damian's knowledge of good Marketing gave him enough sense to know that his name alone, Damian, would not necessarily stick in anyone's head, so he decided to go with his nickname from college - D-TRAIN. Offer him all the money you want, he still won't tell you where it comes from (or he'll tell you the old "basketball" story).
